Welcome Back
We hope that you have made the most of your study abroad experience. We are sure you have plenty of photos and stories of your time abroad to share with families and friends. Upon your return, you will receive a notice to complete a Study Abroad Program Evaluation. Please make sure to complete it in order to provide feedback on your study abroad experience.
You have not only experienced a new culture but have also grown as a person. For some students, transitioning back to life in the U.S. can be more difficult than their initial cultural adjustment abroad. After the exhilaration of new travels and experiences abroad, returning to your life in the U.S. may feel boring or everyday. You may also have feelings of frustration or sadness when trying to put your experience into words for family and friends who did not go through the experience with you. In addition, it will take time to catch up with the events that took place at home during your absence. Please see our Re-entry Adjustment section for resources to help you with this transitional time.
So now that you've studied abroad, how will you quench your newfound thirst for international experiences? Our Returnee Events, Involvement Opportunities and Employment Opportunities sections will help you to continue your international education experience here on campus, in the local community and abroad. Perhaps you are thinking of studying abroad again or maybe even working or volunteering abroad. Our returnee events and advising services can help you make that next international experience a reality.
If you are looking for an off-campus sublet or apartment, please refer to the Housing Board on the International Student Services web site.
