A letter from the Director of Study Abroad, Jennifer Engel

jengelSee the world for yourself and earn credit toward graduation by studying abroad for a summer, semester or academic year. Each year hundreds of USC undergraduates study abroad. Overseas study can compliment any academic program or major, and you don't need to know a second language to study abroad in Japan, Costa Rica, France, and many other locations around the world. The process begins by meeting with the Study Abroad Office staff and your academic advisor to discuss the options that best fit your academic requirements, career and personal goals, and budget. Start planning during freshman year and you could study abroad multiple times -- the more time you have to plan, the more study abroad options you'll have.

Our goal is to guide you through the study abroad process, providing you with information about study abroad program options, scholarship opportunities and diverse academic, cultural, and linguistic experiences. By developing and implementing quality programming connected to each stage of the study abroad process, we work to foster a sense of cultural awareness, open mindedness and appreciation of differences in every student.

For more information on the semester, academic year, and summer programs available to you, contact the Study Abroad Office at (803) 777-7557 or stop by the office located in Legare College, Suite 321.
